Getting Ready to Go Part 2

Getting Ready to Go | Companion Activity Part 2 reinforces and expands the language, comprehension, and critical thinking skills introduced in the life skills video through more advanced, structured activities. Students describe routine-based pictures using “say it, see it, and describe it” prompts, generate narratives about preparing to leave the house, and answer opinion-based questions to support expressive language development. The resource also includes inferencing and prediction tasks related to planning, organization, and time management, as well as multi-step verbal and written direction-following activities with modifiers to strengthen listening and reading comprehension. Additional activities target higher-level language skills, including analogies, multiple-meaning words, semantic relationships, grammar practice with pronouns and irregular forms, and figurative language such as idioms, metaphors, and similes. These engaging tasks deepen understanding, strengthen language development, and promote independence and responsibility when getting ready to go.
