Basic Safety & Emergency Signs Part 2

Basic Safety & Emergency Signs | Companion Activity Part 2 reinforces and expands the language, comprehension, and critical thinking skills introduced in the life skills video through more advanced, structured activities. Students describe safety and emergency sign pictures using “say it, see it, and describe it” prompts, generate narratives about safety and emergency situations, and answer opinion-based questions to strengthen expressive language skills. The resource also includes inferencing and prediction tasks related to recognizing important signs, understanding their meanings, and choosing appropriate responses, as well as multi-step verbal and written direction-following activities with modifiers to strengthen listening and reading comprehension. Additional activities target higher-level language skills, including analogies, multiple-meaning words, semantic relationships, grammar practice with pronouns, irregular past tense verbs, and irregular plural nouns, and figurative language such as idioms, metaphors, and similes. These engaging tasks deepen understanding, strengthen language development, and support safety awareness, problem-solving, and appropriate decision-making in everyday and emergency situations.
