Understanding Emotional Transitions

Understanding Emotional Transitions Companion Activity reinforces the emotional awareness and self-regulation skills taught in the life skills video through a variety of interactive exercises. Students answer yes/no and WH-questions, complete sequencing tasks, retell the video using visual supports, and practice identifying different emotions and how feelings can change over time. The resource also includes problem-solving scenarios that help students recognize emotional challenges, determine the size of the problem, and choose appropriate coping strategies. Additional activities support language development, such as categorization of emotions, compare/contrast of different feelings, and utterance expansion using descriptive vocabulary and present progressive verbs. These engaging tasks help deepen understanding and support students in recognizing, expressing, and managing changing emotions.
